In this video, I'm going to take you on a tour around my favorite free English learning website that I recommend to all my beginner and intermediate adult English language learners.
How to register for a student account
This is the USA Learns homepage. In the top right, you can change the language between English and Spanish.
To create or register for an account, select start now. You will enter in your email address, your first name, your last name, and create a password with at least six letters or numbers. No spaces. Type your password again to confirm. Then answer the math question and select register.
How to confirm your email address
Next, go to your email and look for an email from noreply titled Confirm your USA Learns account. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. In the email, click on the link to confirm your account.
Account confirmed. Thank you for confirming your account. You are now ready to start using USA Learns as a student. Please sign in.
On the sign in page, type your email address, password and click sign in.
What courses can you find on USA Learns?
These are the courses in USA Learns. There are seven courses and the numbers are similar to the level. First English Course is for beginners. Second English Course is for intermediate learners, and Practice English and Reading is for high intermediate learners. There is a U.S. Citizenship course. English 1 Plus is for beginners and Skills for the Nursing Assistant is for high intermediate learners. Access America is for intermediate level learners who want to learn how to succeed in the United States.
So let's begin a course. This is First English Course. Select start now. First English Course has 20 units.

Video Activities
Let's look at a video. Click listen.

Then click next and you can continue listening. To go back, click on menu and here are your activities.

When you finish the video, you select your answer and check your answer.

So you see after you start a course, you have the option to go to the next activity, select a different unit, or start over.
So please, please select a different unit because then you can see your progress. If you click on the unit, you'll see your progress in the unit.
If you click the next activity, it just continues, continues and you don't know your progress. Okay?
And the last option is to start over. Start over will erase all your progress. If you start Second English Course over, your scores and all your progress will be deleted. You click on the box to start over and all progress is erased.
Save your USA Learns to your Bookmarks Bar
Once you're logged in, you can select this star in the search bar and it will save it to the bookmarks bar. You can name it USA Learners. And you can select bookmarks bar here. Click done.
It will show up at the bottom of your bookmarks list. Select and drag it to your bookmarks bar. So when you open up Google Chrome, you can click a new tab, select USA Learns, and you are already logged in to this page.
